The future influences the present just as much as the past
Philosophical, hey? Thanks Nietzsche!
In all seriousness I plan on an amazing future! The previous post about the van shows just how serious about this I am.
I believe that I have so far been blessed with an amazing life. I have met many amazing people, have great family and friends who support me and have had the opportunity to travel much more of the world than I ever thought I would. If this is not blessed, then I do not know what is? With this in my past it sets a solid foundation for the present and for the future.
In the present, I am happy and confortable. In a time of need, to prepare for the adventures to come, our families have given us lodgings, a place to store all our other belongings and they have given us space to complete the van. Then maybe this adventure would have never happened at all, or would have been delayed indefinitely if the above did not happen. So the present has been kind to me, and has certainly set the foundations for the future.
All of this has led up to my dream of traveling and climbing all over Europe, whilst dirt bagging in a van. This plan for the future has been in the works for a long time, and right now I just cant wait…I want to be there right now. ‘Living the dream in the mountains!’ I have sustained my desire for the outdoors this last few weeks by setting up this blog (still work to do…) and reminiscing on my previous trips as well as more recent ones, I hope to continue this and make a comprehensive diary of travel, trips and climbs I have been involved in.
At the end of the month we will set off, and May 2017 will mark the start of a new chapter in our lives. Moving towards a future that we hope, will give us the freedom to enjoy our lives and take advantage of opportunities that have been afforded to us.
